Early Life and Career

Walter "Scotty" Hockey was born on December 15, 1888, in Stirling, Ontario, Canada. He grew up playing hockey on the frozen ponds of his hometown, and his skills quickly became apparent. In 1908, he joined the Toronto Professionals of the National Hockey Association (NHA).
